Central RTO Sponsors Caldwell YMCA "Biggest Loser" challenge

Paul Bumgarner discusses his "Biggest Loser" experience.

We (Paul & DeAnna Bumgarner) have been members of the YMCA family for about three years. Although we would like to say that we came regularly, reality check, it wasn't enough. We made 4 commitments.

  1. We would do whatever our trainers told us to do.
  2. We would do all of the challenges no matter what they were.
  3. We would make more time to go to the YMCA everyday.
  4. We would eat healthier.

We were limited on the amount of time we had to complete the "Biggest Looser" challenges because of family obligations. Unlike on TV we still had to work and care for our family during the challenge.

Surprisingly we found the challenges exhilarating. DeAnna hasn't swum in 17 years and isn't a strong swimmer but wouild like to take the Masters Swim class and improve her skills and do more swimming. She also like the Power class and plans to make this a part of her workout routine.

I looked at the Stair Master as a torture device as we noticed other members working out. Due to the Stair Master challenge I found it to be a great workout and have included it in my workout routine.

The Caldwell YMCA "Biggest Loser" challenge helped us get back on track with our fitness goals so that we can be better able to spend more time with our family doing the activities we have planned for the upcoming year.

Special thanks goes out to Noel (Central RTO) for implementing the idea. Than you Central RTO for supporting the YMCA and coming up with the prizes. Insurmountable thanks goes out to Matt, Anthony, Julia, Jennifer, Liz, and Beth for their support and encouragement. Thanks to our trainers Geovoni and Sari for their help and rooting for us to loose weight.
